Recycle & Sew

Recycle & Sew

Sewing, dressmaking, pattern-cutting & soft furnishing. Group classes & private tuition.

Group Classes

home5You can join a class at any time of the calendar year, depending on availability - there are no set autumn, spring or summer terms. All the classes are at different venues and you can start with just one class or commit to a block of six and then be eligible to get one free. Group classes are very informal and suitable for everyone from the complete beginner to the intermediate with some experience as well as the more advanced dressmaker. They are ideal if you want to tailor-make your learning experience as students work on own their own projects - dressmaking, soft furnishings and other craft items.

Prices start from £8.00 an hour with a discount available when you book 6 classes - the seventh is free!

"Hi June, Just to say how much I enjoyed yesterday and I am about to try out my over locker now with confidence!! I will come again and do the sewing machine course but I need to make sure it is when the weather is still good (no snow or ice!) as I have quite a way to come. Many thanks Jane"

"The production and design was really well planned, and I enjoyed it a lot thank you."

"Hi June, Thank you for the great classes on Wednesday and today. I have learned such a lot making the dress, which I will hem once I have bought some invisible thread. Do you have any places available on 2nd December so that I can learn to adapt a commercial pattern for trousers and 6th January 2016 Master your over-locker? Kind regards Di "

"Hi June, Thanks for a super course today. Could you book me a place on the corset course on 4th December please? Regards Wendy"

"I know whatever mood I wake up in by the end of class I leave laughing and happy!"

"Hi June - just wanted to say thanks very much for Friday's workshop. Emma & I both enjoyed it very much. We've both had our machines for about 1 year & now feel confident in using them & problem solving thanks to your clear & comprehensive guidance. I’m leaving my machine out so I can have a go every day & I find the instruction book actually makes sense now. Amazing progress in a few hours! Thanks again - will return for next stage when feel ready. Maggie"

"Good morning June, I have so enjoyed the sewing sessions - you are such an enthusiastic lady and have inspired us both. I have finished my elephant slacks - Phil thought they were p.js but I am more than pleased with them! Thank you again June, With all good wishes, Gail"
